Desert Plant for Kids
Did you know you can eat many plants that you find in the desert, including cactus? Find out which you can eat and which to avoid from 10-11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 9 at The Nature Conservancy ‘s Hassayampa River Preserve. Participants will take a short walk along the trail to identify common plants and then taste some treats made from desert plants. This is a Nature Ranger event sponsored by Friends of Hassayampa. All children are invited to attend, however, only those signed up as Nature Rangers will earn program incentives. Students may sign up for the free Nature Ranger program at the event. Space is limited and reservations are required. Call (928) 684-2772 or email: bmccollum@tnc.org to make reservations or for more information.
