Bats and Buzzards on the Bridge
Did you know that Wickenburg gets one of the highest concentrations of migrating turkey vultures in Arizona? Or that the highway bridge in town has a colony of thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats roosting beneath it? This free, family-friendly, wildlife viewing event is hosted by the Town of Wickenburg, Maricopa County Parks Hassayampa River Preserve, Friends of Hassayampa, Wickenburg Conservation Foundation, Arizona Game and Fish Department, Wild at Heart, Sonoran Audubon, and Maricopa County Master Naturalists. There will be tables with fun and educational activities, visitors can meet Wild at Heart’s rescued education turkey vulture, “Mojo”, use binoculars and spotting scopes to view the vultures and bats up close, and more! Parking is available in the nearby historic downtown district and within easy walking distance of the pedestrian bridge. Bring your friends and family, and experience two of the natural spectacles that Wickenburg has to offer while taking in our breathtaking Sonoran Desert sunset!
No registration required. Just show up between 5:00-7:00pm!
