Artists’ Retreat at Boyd Ranch
The Desert Caballeros Western Museum and Wickenburg Art Club present an overnight art retreat at the Museum’s Boyd Ranch facility. This retreat, hosted by the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, partnering with the Wickenburg Art Club, brings together a maximum of 20 artists who will enjoy the ambiance of bunking, camping or driving a camper or motorhome to Boyd Ranch in Wickenburg for two days of learning, exploring and enjoying the fresh air and the educational bliss of working with two accomplished artists.
Plein Air artist Betty Carr taught art and painted for many years, achieving acceptance as a Master Artist in the American Impressionist Society, AISM signature, among other distinctions. Betty is known far and wide for her dynamic impressionist work and books she has authored. Betty teaches at the Scottsdale Artists’ School when she isn’t traveling and teaching with her painter husband, Howard.
Betty is bringing along her friend Susan Kliewer, also a painter of note, as her helper. Among Susan’s achievements is having been a selected artist in “Cowgirl Up!” for many years. Having both accomplished women to work with this small group is like striking gold at Vulture Mine!
The cost of this two-day event is $150 per student. This includes the instruction in watercolors and/or oil both days, dinner on Wednesday night and breakfast on Thursday, both prepared by award-winning Dutch-oven cook Mark Wilkins.
Registration is open now. Visit the event page to register or call 928-684-2272.
