VULTURE CITY HOMESCHOOL APPRECIATION DAY
Step out of the classroom and into the past! Our Annual Homeschool Appreciation Day is a full-day educational adventure—open to all families and curious minds—blending self-paced historical exploration, hands-on learning, live entertainment, and desert wildlife education at one of Arizona’s most iconic ghost towns. Families and visitors of all backgrounds are invited to explore over 16 original 1800s buildings— including the assay office, blacksmith shop, brothel, cookhouse, and the infamous Hanging Tree—discovering the stories, artifacts, and frontier ingenuity that defined the gold-rush era. Enjoy a packed day of engaging experiences, including: • Live blacksmithing demonstrations • Interactive gold-panning station where everyone can try their hand at “striking it rich” • Performances by the Wickenburg Marshals, bringing the Old West to life with family-friendly skits and photo ops • Arizona Game & Fish on-site with live desert animals and wildlife education stations • Local food trucks serving lunch, snacks, and treats • Shaded picnic and rest areas for breaks and socializing This special event is our way of saying thank you to homeschool families—while welcoming every guest to learn, play, and explore. | |
